When discussing the best shed material, you’re looking at what makes up the exterior of the shed itself, as this will have to contend with the elements. The vast majority of quality sheds are either built out of vinyl or pressure-treated wood siding. We’re comparing the important details of both options: Learn more about the prices of our Amish sheds. Risk of Rot — When it comes to stopping mold and rot, vinyl is the best shed material and there’s no question about it. After all, your home is probably built from vinyl siding, and that’s no coincidence. However, as a naturally occurring material — even treated wood — can be damaged by rot and mold. Style — Both types of sheds look attractive and are effective at complementing different backyard decors. In general, prospective customers admire the look of vinyl sheds more and consider them to have a more decidedly upscale look. Of course, when it comes to color and style, personal taste is everything. See some of our favorite shed color combinations right here. Our Verdict — Like we mentioned above, both shed types can be great, which is why we sell both! However, for most potential customers, we say that vinyl is the best shed material as it boasts the convenience factor and a longer lifespan — even if the upfront price is a little higher.

Indeed, the planned mercenary raid fell apart within days after the report was penned. We purchased a pergola at Recreation Unlimited in June of 2019. There were repeated delays, and we finally got the pergola constructed in September. This year, on returning from our winter home, we found several issues with the pergola - the wood was not properly treated, the holes not pre-drilled properly, there are large cracks and splits in the entire structure. I keep hearing that the problem is with the company from which R.U. obtained the wood. I don't care, really, I gave my money to R.U. and they have yet to make this good. The problem was reported in March, and it is now mid-August. Attorney is our next step. Very frustrating!
I am very pleased with the quality of my shed. The real star of the show was the installer. He saved the day by correcting the poor prep work that I did. And he spent as much time as necessary to make sure the shed was level in both directions. I would highly recommend Recreation Unlimited.
A plastic shed also looks like plastic (surprise!). Can you imagine a plastic shed in your backyard? Compare that with a vinyl sided wood shed that’s built with the same materials as your house. A vinyl-sided wood shed certainly has greater aesthetic value.
