Choose a wooden shed with a pointed roof for a classic look, or go for a slanted roof for something simple. Pick a shed with large double doors to make getting your large garden equipment in and out a breeze, or look for a wooden shed with a single door. You could even have a look for a wooden garden shed with windows to let a little light in, making it easy to see exactly where your garden supplies are when you need them.

Having a large shed is not always the best choice for certain people. I know that living space today can be very small and saving on any space is crucial for a better living area. Thus having smaller storage space using the Rubbermaid Horizontal Storage Shed will provide storage needs for a deck or a small yard. It can hold items for the garden and even cushions for your patio furniture.

The beauty of a vinyl-sided storage shed is that it combines the strength and versatility of a wood structure with the long-lasting and maintenance-free aspects of vinyl. High-quality vinyl siding can perform well with virtually no maintenance for a lifetime (other than a routine cleaning), protecting the wood structure underneath.
Then, just like when buying a car, you need to look over the shed. While the seller may give you reasons why the shed's on the market, you should always investigate the structure yourself—or bring along someone else who knows what to look for. You need to discover for yourself if the shed is in fair condition. Visible damages - Check for visible damages like cracks, termite activity, warping, rust, and rot. Also look for signs of exterior damage to a shed such as from a falling tree branch or lawn mower impact. Dampness - Does the inside of the shed feel damp? Is there evidence of mold or mildew? Base - Examine the shed's base. Watch out for rotting of timber around the base if it's a wooden shed or corrosion of steel if it is a metal shed. Upkeep - Look for signs of regular maintenance (good) or repairs (possibly not so good).

Our shed is constructed with uniform 2×4 studs spaced 16″ o.c. covered with 1/2″ plywood walls. The low quality shed is build with 2×3 lumber spaced 24″ o.c. (and nearly 4′ o.c. on the side walls) with 1/2″ OSB for walls. The walls of the low quality shed are much more likely to buckle over time, especially if the 2x3s and OSB are subject to high moisture. High quality 2×4 lumber provides significantly more structural rigidity in the build.
