Purchased a Funshine Swing for my granddaughters for Christmas. They love it!The folks at Recreation Unlimited were extremely helpful when I called to order and accommodated my schedule to pick it up at their showroom. .
Hardware store sheds are often built of neither wood nor vinyl — instead, they are built of aluminum or plastic. In addition to the questionable material choice, these sheds are built quickly, several hundred-at-a-time in enormous factories. While the prices will be very cheap, we’ve seen them fall apart and need to be replaced in just 2 or 3 summers, which undermines any of those potential savings.
Although, I don’t think it could handle snow well I think it would be a great choice against rain. It has an asphalt roof which is tilted, making water runoff causing to damage to the shed.
An 80 square feet shed can suffice anyone's wood storing needs, since you'll be able to stack up to 4 cord of logs. It's easy to build and should take no more than a few days to finish.
Built my own 8x8 and it lasted 20yrs, the problem was it looked like I built it. Bought a 10x12 Tuff Shed 5 yrs ago was about 3500.00. Has the galvanized metal base sitting on dirt. Lowes used to have a comparable kit for half the price but wood platform and 2x3 studs. Looked at shed world as well they were about 1000.00 cheaper but as I recall had the wood floor base, with comparable upgrades there was only a couple hundred difference. Like the TS warranty. My brother has two TS, a couple of warranty issues fixed promptly and his are 8 yrs old. If an earthquake hits and the house falls I'll move into the shed. There pretty darn tough...A guy decided to park his avalance on it last year...lol Good quailty and I don't think we paid anything close to msrp. Call the ontario store and grind them down.
If you go tuffshed try and get 20% off 10-15 is ok. They are definitely expensive I have had 1 built and built about 8 myself. Your best is to find a used 1 of cl. Make sure you check city zoning. Lots of the deals people have them installed and city says remove it. Here is a 10X12 a quick cl search http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/grd/3550391462.html We bought it through Home Depot when it was on sale and they let us use a coupon too.
The standard overhang is 3″ to 4″. Add an 24″ overhang for both utility and appearance. If you’re in the market for a new shed, shop around. The big home improvement stores especially seem to be selling sheds with substandard materials. This is one area where a little bit of legwork can make a huge difference in your return on investment. Summary of Shed Buying Tips Avoid oriented strand board, especially for roofing and sub flooring. Look for plywood construction, and especially 3/4″ pressure treated, tongue-and-groove plywood for the floor. Avoid 2x3s, especially if they are spaced far apart. Look for 2x4s no more than 16″ on center. Consider roofing and siding materials. Look for shingles with at least a 25 year life. Look for rot-proof composite materials. Look for quality doors that won’t sag over time. Above all, don’t sacrifice quality to save a few bucks. If you’re going to spend $1,900 on a shed, spend $500 more and get something worthwhile.
Just remember that you must always use primer on the plastic first (whether it’s plastic, vinyl or most types of resin), and then you need to use a primer paint specifically made for plastics.
I was gonna buy one a while back. Couldn't bring myself to pay what the wanted. I ended up building one myself. 10x12 on a slab. Cost me right about $1,000 for the whole thing including the concrete.
