Resin sheds are made of a high quality plastic material that makes the sheds lighter, yet stronger and more durable than wooden sheds. For ultimate strength and durability, some manufacturers like Lifetime also use integrated steel supports and a double-wall - versus just a single-wall-resin panel construction.

The cost to build a shed has a wide range per square foot, depending on several factors like the materials, purpose, how finished it is, and whether it is a kit, a DIY build from plans, or a custom shed.

Another tip is to take advantage of tool rentals so you don’t have to buy everything required for construction. If you currently have a good selection of tools, it will save on the amount you will need to rent (if borrowing from a neighbor is not an option).
Flip the 4″ x 4″ over to complete your cut. This will give you two posts the exact same height.
My main complaint is that it took forever to be scheduled for construction - like 2-3 months. Once it got here, the guy put it up in about 6 hours. The shed itself seems solid but the walls are pretty thin. Overall it's good quality, though - worth paying the extra money for a solid, good looking wood shed versus the ugly metal ones at Lowe's. On a side note, if you're going to build your own foundation, don't trust the specs they send you - my installer put the 4x4s on in the opposite direction that the specs said. They will just lay the 4x4s on the ground so if you want something different, you can make a cement foundation or set up the posts like I did (cement blocks with wooden blocks on top).
You can cut asphalt sheets with any saw or utility knife. Cut your sheet for the depth (front to back) measurement first. Next, overlap one sheet over the other (only overlap one peak.) Mark the width of the shed roof plus 2″. For these plans 65″ is the width that worked on the shed, but be sure to double check your shed roof.
Vinyl is often a practical choice for many as it needs little attention except for a power wash once in a while. It lasts a long time, too.

Beautiful and exceptionally durable, LP shed products make your storage building or other structure a cut above the rest.
After the fad of vinyl siding wore off, back came the wooden storage sheds in a much more classy look that mimics vinyl siding in the exterior look…with just a bit more uppity look and technology. As mentioned, these LP SmartSide products are designed to stand the test of time.
DIY and pro construction are two options based on your own skill level, and some can be purchased prebuilt, or built offsite, then they can be moved onto your property and put in the exact spot you want it. Home improvement stores also sell wood storage building kits that you or a pro assemble.
Inherently, wood storage sheds are great for storing items outdoors, but they can also be used in creative ways. Add a charming wood storage shed behind a low deck as a wall or railing. Set up patio furniture on the deck in front of it, and use the shed as a bar area. Build a bar inside the shed and prop the doors open during parties or special occasions. Some convert larger shed buildings into a Man Cave, She Sheds or even Tiny Houses.
DuraTemp is a plywood siding with a 1/8″ Douglas Fir wood composite face. It looks natural, resists dents, checks and cracks. It is inherently stronger, lighter and more durable than engineered wood sidings, and provides a low-maintenance, easy to paint surface. Our Duratemp-sided structures are constructed with Duratemp plywood siding. It’s a great product and the most economical siding choice. It is always 100% free and clear of patches.
